5 Easy Ways Add More Storage to Your Home

Tips

Posted 03/09/2018

We all wish we could have a bigger home, but what if you could make your home feel bigger by getting smarter with your storage? Let’s dive right in and take a look at a few clever tricks you can deploy to make your home feel bigger than its ever been.

Tupperware in the Kitchen

Tupperware is a classic storage method, but have you ever wondered if you could use it for more than just storing your tasty leftovers? If you want to keep the kitchen spick and span then you can use tupperware to divide up some of your drawers so that they’re a lot easier to navigate. We all have a ‘magic drawer’ where we stuff everything from post and pens, to batteries and rubber bands. Organise it with a few tubs and you’ll be able to see what you want need the instant you pull the handle.

Hampers Under the Bed

Storing stuff under your bed can be a little bit of a minefield because you can run the risk of shoving all sorts of junk under there. We love the idea of having a few low profile wicker hampers so that you can store your shoes or some blankets and then drag everything out nice and quickly. Put them close to the edge of your bed and you’ll also be able to add a nice aesthetic to the room.

A Play Box in the Lounge For the Kids

Watching the kids play in the lounge is something that every parent enjoys, but the messy piles of toys that come with it can quickly make the living room feel small and cramped. If you make a fun-looking play box for the kids and make a game of tidying them all away before tea then the main room in the house will be all the better for it.

Wall Mounted Letter Rack in the Hall

We all have a sideboard in the hallway or a part of the kitchen counter that is seemingly forever drowning in junk mail and newspapers. A small wall mounted letter rack in your hallway is a great way to make the kitchen feel that much bigger. With a place for everything and everything in its place it’ll be obvious what’s junk mail ready for the recycling and what’s not.

Keep the Recycling Outside

This last one is pretty simple. Rather than keeping the recycling boxes in the kitchen or back porch why not make space for them outside. It’ll save you floor space and you won’t have to squeeze past them every time you want to go and do a bit of gardening. Ideal!
