5 Reasons to Spring Clean Your Home in the Autumn

Do you spring clean your home? Many of us do, but often not during spring. Springtime is the tradition because we’re clearing the cobwebs (literally) from the winter months and preparing our homes for the more social season that is summer. But there is a case for giving your home a spring clean during the autumn instead – or, indeed, as well. Here’s why:
1. The weather is cooler
Let’s be honest, cleaning can be a sweaty business. Cooler weather can make all the difference when it comes to your comfort. Less hot sun, more cool breezes – that’s what we need when we’re getting all hot and bothered scrubbing the floor!
2. Christmas isn't far away
For many of us, Christmas time is when our home sees the most visitors, rather than summertime. By having a good old clean during the autumn, you’re doing a big part of the legwork for Christmas prep. And won’t that be a relief?
3. Summertime can create more mess
If you have kids at school, the summer holidays can mean a huge amount of mess in your home! So a big clean during September or October, once the children are back at school, can be really useful!
4. Ventilation is a necessity
During the cooler months, we tend to keep the heating on and the windows closed, which can lead to an increase in condensation, mould, and germs. None of these things are good for our health and a deep clean can be highly beneficial during this time!
5. More time is spend indoors
Autumn and winter tend to be spent indoors, much more so than spring and summer. So, we’ll be making more mess, in more rooms, as well as bringing in more mud and grime from outside. It makes sense to have an autumn clean during this time!
