When it comes to Autumn/Winter interior trends, the phrase “more is more” springs to mind. From colour drenching rooms using the same shade across walls, floors, and ceilings, to using statement patterns on everything from wallpaper to window dressings, Autumn is not entering quietly. As homeowners become braver, bold interiors are only getting more popular, so we’ve consulted with our Creative Director, interior designer Amy Wilson, and rounded up a list of key trends you can embrace this Autumn / Winter and love all year round.
Cosy Contrasts
As we approach the colder months, naturally we want our homes to feel warmer (aesthetically as well as physically!) and more inviting. Layering textures is the key here, allowing you to easily bring your existing pieces into the new season, for example pairing your linen bedding with fluffy sheepskins and blankets. Textures aren’t just limited to soft-furnishings such as rugs, cushions, and blankets either! Contrasting furniture finishes in different woods and metals, and textured wall finishes like limewash and plaster can also be combined to create an interesting, layered look.
Amy says: “If your room feels cold or needs extra ambience and comfort touches, then look at where you can introduce contrasting texture. If you have wooden Venetian blinds, soften your window with the addition of some luxurious velvet curtains, or gentle linen floor drapes.”

Aubergine, Wine, & Plums
Surprisingly enough this isn’t your shopping list but is in fact the colours taking centre-stage this season. These reddish-pink hues are popping up more and more in the world of home décor. Those who dare can drench all four walls in shades from this palette; or if you’re just looking to dip your toe in this trend’s pool opt for lower-risk soft furnishings from this colour family. Roller blinds are a great way to experiment with new trends as they can easily be swapped out should a new interior style catch your eye!
Amy says: “There are some beautiful new paint colours appearing alongside inspirational images online to demonstrate how best to decorate and style with these hues. One thing that makes these colours perfect for experimenting is their versatility, whether you lean toward a more classic, period style or are going for a more contemporary aesthetic, these shades can suit all décors styles.”
‘70s Revival
Lava lamps at the ready, the revival of groovy ‘70s inspired décor has arrived at the perfect time to compliment the changing colours of the season. Those who really want to capture the essence of the era can introduce super sleek dark wood finishes through furniture pieces and window dressings.
Amy says: “Earthy tones of browns, rusts, and orange combined with retro prints and punchy velvets are everywhere, from cushions to curtains. This trend invites you to explore the playful side of interiors, so embrace the laid-back vibes of the ‘70s and enjoy experimenting with patterns and colours.”
Make a Statement
We’ve seen the rise of statement wallpapers, rugs, lighting and more. Even the ‘fifth wall’ (the ceiling!) has enjoyed statement makeovers from patterned wallpapers to gold leaf. Introducing a few of statement pieces can instantly take your space from bland to bold. Don’t be afraid of experimenting with bright patterns and colours, and start small with soft furnishings and décor accessories if you’re not ready to go full statement wall! You’ll be a pattern-clashing pro in no time!
Amy says: “Window coverings have long been the last-minute purchase, the practicality over style solution. But not anymore. The options for creating statement windows are endless with choices of finishes to layer, and styling tips like painting window recesses in contrasting colours, or even adding a feature trim around the window frame to add extra drama.”
With these tips you can easily refresh your spaces ready for the new season, injecting ambience, warmth, and maybe a touch of boldness.
