247 Pro Tips:
- If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. For recesses bigger than 60mm it's really just a matter of personal taste.
- When measuring to fit inside the recess, check for anything such as tiling or picture rails that could get in the way and take them into account when measuring. We normally advise just to measure between any tiling so as to ensure a nice, snug fit.
Additional Information:
- Wooden Venetian blinds are available in either 35mm, 50mm or 63mm slat sizes so please take this in to consideration when thinking about the placement of your blind - especially when fitting inside a recess. If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you may want to fit outside the recess, depending on the slat size chosen.
- We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space. We make a 10mm deduction to the width of Wooden Venetians. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

Is recess or exact size most suitable for my window?
What are the controls on wooden blinds?
Wooden blinds are designed to give you two separate ways of controlling the light in your room. The tilt control is located on the left-hand side of the headrail and is a toggle pull cord, this is used to tilt the angle of the slats depending on how much privacy and light preferred. Another pull cord is placed on the right-hand side which allows you to raise/lower the blind.
What is a pelmet?
A pelmet is a wood-like piece of plastic supplied with your blind to cover the headrail and fixtures at the top of the blind, it will be colour matched to your blind and can easily be attached once you have fitted your blind. If you are fitting outside the recess ‘exact size’ you will also receive two smaller pieces to fit onto the sides of the headrail.
When ordering wood venetian blinds for a bay window, will the slats naturally align?
At 247 we do our utmost to try to ensure that all slats align, however, please give us a call when you are ready to place your order and our friendly staff will do their best to make sure this happens for you.
What material are faux wooden blinds made from?
Made from a high-quality plastic, faux wooden blinds are made and painted to look like real wood. They have lots of qualities such as moisture resistant, easy to clean and very durable making them great for rooms like kitchens and bathrooms.
How many tapes will my Deluxe wooden venetian have?
The number of ladder tapes used is the amount needed to support the weight of the blind. The size of the blind and the slat width selected are used to calculate the number required. All Deluxe Wooden blinds will have a minimum 2 ladder tapes. If you would like an exact answer, we would be happy to calculate this for you.
Are screws/rawl supplied with wooden blinds?
We will supply you with the brackets to fit the blinds however we do not supply screws/rawl plugs as each fitting location can vary, for most 15-25mm self-tapping screws and decent rawl plugs will do the job.
How accurate are the images for wooden blinds?
We have a specialist team producing our images and aim to get 100% accuracy on every blind. However, screens can vary depending which device you are using so we always recommend ordering a FREE SAMPLE just to be sure.

• The blinds may be made with 2-3 extra slats on the bottom to ensure full coverage of the window.
• All items are cut to size and will be accurate with working tolerances and variances of +/-5mm.
• All our blinds are manufactured and supplied to be compliant with child safety regulations. As part of this compliance all control cords and chains will be made to a maximum of 1 metre. If you need to discuss this, please contact us.
WARNING
Young children can be strangled by loops in pull cords, chains, tapes and inner cords that operate the product.
To avoid strangulation and entanglement, keep cords out of the reach of young children.
Cords may become wrapped around a child’s neck. Move beds, cots, and furniture away from window covering cords.
