247 Pro Tips:

  • If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. For recesses bigger than 60mm it's really just a matter of personal taste.
  • When measuring to fit inside the recess, check for anything such as tiling or picture rails that could get in the way and take them into account when measuring. We normally advise just to measure between any tiling so as to ensure a nice, snug fit.

 

Additional Information:

  • Wooden Venetian blinds are available in either 35mm, 50mm or 63mm slat sizes so please take this in to consideration when thinking about the placement of your blind - especially when fitting inside a recess. If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you may want to fit outside the recess, depending on the slat size chosen.
  • We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space. We make a 10mm deduction to the width of Wooden Venetians. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

Is recess or exact size most suitable for my window?

If you are fitting the wooden blind on the inside of your window then you would select (Recess) If you are fitting the blind on the outside of the window it would be (Exact). If you’re unsure view our measuring guide.

What are the controls on wooden blinds?

Wooden blinds are designed to give you two separate ways of controlling the light in your room. The tilt control is located on the left-hand side of the headrail and is a toggle pull cord, this is used to tilt the angle of the slats depending on how much privacy and light preferred. Another pull cord is placed on the right-hand side which allows you to raise/lower the blind.

What is a pelmet?

A pelmet is a wood-like piece of PVC supplied with your blind to cover the headrail and fixtures at the top of the blind, it will be colour matched to your blind and can easily be attached once you have fitted your blind.

When ordering wood venetian blinds for a bay window, will the slats naturally align?

At 247 we do our utmost to try to ensure that all slats align, however, please give us a call when you are ready to place your order and our friendly staff will do their best to make sure this happens for you.

What material are faux wooden blinds made from?

Made from a high-quality PVC, faux wooden blinds are made and dyed to look like real wood. Faux wooden blinds have durable, waterproof slats, are flame-retardant by nature, and are easy to clean. Making these are great window blind for any room in your home.

Are screws/rawl supplied with wooden blinds?

We will supply you with the brackets to fit the blinds however we do not supply screws/rawl plugs as each fitting location can vary, for most 15-25mm self-tapping screws and decent rawl plugs will do the job.

How accurate are the images for wooden blinds?

We have a specialist team producing our images who aim to recreate an accurate representation of colour, finish and texture. However, screens and devices can alter how you see the finished result, so we always recommend ordering a FREE SAMPLE just to be sure.

Do these blinds come with tapes?

If you have selected our Deluxe product then yes we supply your new blind with water-resistant cotton tapes. These come in a 25mm size and are colour-matched to the slat for a neat finish.
