If your recess depth is 60mm or less or the window opens inwards, you'll be best off with an exact fitting. For recesses bigger than 60mm it's really just a matter of personal taste.
When measuring to fit inside the recess, check for anything such as tiling or picture rails that could get in the way and take them into account when measuring. We normally advise just to measure between any tiling so as to ensure a nice, snug fit.
For the best results when measuring for an exact fitting, allow your blind to overlap the edges of the recess by at least 35mm on each side. We'll then make a blind for your exact measurements and ship it with the brackets which will add an additional 3mm to the size you give us.

Additional Information:

The fabric width is 35-40mm narrower than the overall width of the blind to allow for any control component on the side of the tube (or 'cassette'). Please note that the bottom rail is 1cm wider than the fabric at either side, due to the end caps required to hold the rail in place. We always manufacture the full blind width and not fabric width. If you are fitting one of these blinds outside of a recess, you may want to consider measuring wider to allow for some fabric overlap.
We try to make the measuring and ordering process as simple as possible - so for a recess fitting, we only require the full size of your recess space and we will make small adjustments to enable the blind to fit within that space. We make a 5mm deduction to the width of this blind. If you wish to make your own allowances and do not require us to make them, please select exact fitting and not recess during the order process.

What is a Day Night blind?

Day Nights blinds are a new, trending innovative blind type. popular in modern homes the ‘Day Night’ term represents the ease of alternating the sheer/plain horizontal panels to change the mood and light from day- night.

What are the controls on day night blinds?

Day Night blinds are controlled the same way as roller blinds with a simple pull cord to raise/lower, the difference is they have two layers of alternating plain and sheer horizontal panels to give you ultimate control over light and privacy.

Recess or exact size for my day night blinds?

If your day night blind is going to sit on the inside of your window then you would opt for (Recess) If you are fitting outside the window onto the wall it would be (Exact). For more information view our measuring guide.

Will I be able to line up the panels for a striped effect?

Yes, the panels alternate with the raising/lowering of the blind, so you will find different positions in which the panels line up and alternate. If you are ordering one blind it will be manufactured so that when it is fully lowered to the drop size you have entered it will be in the closed position with no sheer panels showing, for information on matching multiple blinds see the question below.

I am thinking about ordering multiple blinds for the same room, will they match up?

Providing your ordering all your Day Night blinds at the same time, with the same drop your blinds will all match up when positioned at the same height in your window. It gets a bit trickier when you have different sized windows in the same room and still want them to match up, all your blinds will match up to the drop of your smallest blind and anything lower than that will not match. If you require matching blinds with different drops then please contact us.

Will my blind show the roll at the top?

This Day Night blind will give you two options when ordering on how you want the cassette to look, either an open cassette which comes at standard or for a small cost more upgrade to the closed cassette system to conceal the top roll with a cover plate, both options come in white.

Are screws/rawl plugs supplied with day night blinds?

No, unfortunately due to different fitting locations screws/rawl plugs are not included. Most walls are suitable for 15-25mm self-tapping screws and rawl plugs.

How accurate are the images for day night blinds?

Our specialist imagery team aim to clearly match the imagery to the blinds making it easier for you to find the right fit. However, colours can vary depending on the screen device you are on so we always recommend ordering a FREE SAMPLE for peace of mind.

• Day Night blinds are supplied as standard with a sidewinder control unit. Operation is through a white plastic beaded cord, or an upgrade to chrome chain, for raising and lowering.

• This Day Night blind comes as standard with a white open cassette headrail (65mm height x 65mm width) with matching control chain and bottom rail.

• A white painted over metal closed cassette (65mm height x 72mm projection) option, with matching control chain and bottom rail, is available for an extra charge.

• This blind will be supplied with 2 bracket styles:
1. Top fixing; a white painted metal bracket (24mm width x 52mm projection).
2. Face fixing; a white painted metal bracket (65mm projection x 45mm height).

• Day Night blinds are manufactured and designed to finish in the 'night position' (no transparent strips in view) when in a fully rolled down position. We are unfortunately unable to guarantee that the 'strips' will match/line up where blind drops are different.

• Please note that the cloth width is 3.5-4cm narrower than the overall cassette width. We always manufacture based on full blind width not cloth width.

• All items are cut to size and will be accurate with working tolerances and variances of +/-5mm.

• All our blinds are manufactured and supplied to be compliant with child safety regulations. As part of this compliance all control cords and chains will be made to a maximum of 1 metre. If you need to discuss this, please contact us.
