Genuine VELUX® blinds are only suitable for VELUX® branded skylights and windows. However we have created our own loft blinds which will fit to all four main skylight window types - VELUX®, Fakro, Dakstra and RoofLITE.

VELUX® blinds are designed to only fit VELUX® branded windows and are slightly more expensive than our loft blinds. At 247 we have designed our own collection of ‘loft blinds’ to work in exactly the same way and be compatible for all window types including VELUX®, Fakro, Rooflite and Dakstra. Our loft blinds are very competitive on price, with faster delivery and a huge choice of fabrics. Another key difference is that the 247 blackout loft blinds will have some thermal barrier properties due to the nature of the backing of the fabrics.

Whilst most other VELUX® blinds are still suitable for older windows, the VELUX® Replacement blind has specifically being designed for windows manufactured before 2014, and are therefore not suitable for newer windows (ie. window codes that include the letter 'K', eg. CK01) Available in the most popular, older sizes and at a cheaper price point, they are ideal if you simply want to replace your old blind with a new, cost effective solution.

Both genuine VELUX® and our 247 loft blinds are operated manually, by hand - each blind has a bottom bar with which to pull the blind up or down in to your desired positon. Please remember to remove the red safety clips from the top of the blinds before use.

Most windows will have a data plate on the inside edge which you will find when opening the window, we need the manufacturer and size stated on your plate to find the correct blind for your window type. Our loft blinds are available in a range of different fabrics to suit your window and interior. Our blackout collection will block out most of the light with a small amount of light bleed around the edges, if your window is in a kitchen or bathroom we have a waterproof range with fabrics designed to be moisture resistant and easy to clean which both work great considering your window will be angled when opened and could be exposed to wet conditions.
