How to Breathe New Life Into a Room
Tips

When you want to spruce things up without completely redecorating from top to bottom it can be hard to know where to start. To give you some food for thought we’ve wracked our brains and created a few simple ways you can breathe new life into any room in the house in a single afternoon.
Cover that carpet
The problem with carpets is that they can take a lot of money and effort to fit, and before you know it you’re looking at a pattern that you just don’t love as much as you once did. A large rug in the living room is the ideal candidate to breathe new life into the family room without having to tear up that underlay. If you have a dark carpet and want to add some more light into the room then a beige woven rug will do the trick.
Gallery walls
Repainting or repapering your hallway can take a few days so why not create a gallery wall to breathe new life into one of the hardest to decorate spaces? All you need is a couple of dozen photos and frames from around the house and a little bit of creativity. Don’t worry about having all of the frames identical or geometrically aligned with one another. When it comes to gallery walls you’ll know the right layout when you see it; and the more eclectic the better!
A splash of colour
If you have neutral walls then you can change the colour scheme of any given room in a single afternoon. Take the living room for example. Choose something new and vibrant like a washed out blue or an apple green and then add a few little hints of it around the room. A couple of scatter cushions, a lampshade, repaint the mirror above the fireplace, even a set of matching blinds or curtains. A few little accessory changes like this around the room is all it takes to create a whole new colour scheme.
