Shutter blinds are controlled from a tilt rod, which sits in the centre of each panel. This allows you to tilt the slats up and down, and we recommend this for a more classic and traditional look. However, we do offer the option of a hidden rod which is positioned behind the slats for a small extra charge. This metal rod, is positioned 38mm from where the shutter hinge sits, allowing this to be partially hidden behind the edge of the panel and the slats allowing for a clearer view through. This look is more suited to a modern, minimalist room. For both options, you also have the option to fully open the blind by opening the panels inwards and set them against the wall. Please ensure you do not use the centre tilt rod to open your panels, as there is a risk of damaging your blind by doing this.

We cannot manufacture at certain sizes, due to weight limits in place. This varies depending on the size, the style of blind, size of slats and wood or material type. There are two main styles of shutter framed, “L-Frames” and “Z-Frames”. Both options can be fitted in a window recess, with the “Z-Frame” designed to overhang, for an extra finish. This is all down to your personal preference, however do be mindful of your window sills. “Z-Frames” can clash with sills, so we offer a style called “All around”, with a sill bar option to avoid this. See the tooltip pop-up icon for the dimensions of this for your chosen shutter.

Available on the "Full Height" shutter style only, a mid-rail separates the panels on the top and bottom, which is ideal for longer doors and windows, or where you need extra panel control. Separating the panels in a full-height shutter will allow you to open the top and bottom sections independently. The size of the mid-rail can vary from 75mm to 110mm, depending on the overall size of your shutter. Please note that You are required to have a mid-rail on heights over 160cm and can enter where you would like the break to be.
