The Shutter blind slats are controlled from a centre-sitting tilt rod in the centre of each panel. This allows you to tilt the slats up and down, and we recommend this for a more classic and traditional look. However, we do offer the option of a hidden rod for a small extra charge. This is positioned offside, behind the slats, close to the hinged side, and the metal tilt rod is semi-hidden naturally by the panel edge of the blind. This is designed to allow a clearer view through the slats. For both options, you can also open the panels inwards and set them against the wall. Please ensure that you do not open your panels fully with the centre control rod option, as you risk damaging this. Instead, open the panels by using the edge of the frames.
We cannot manufacture certain size and number of panel configurations due to the weight of the shutter doors. This is why the choice may be unavailable to have all or single panels on the left/right for big window or doors, as this would put too much pressure on either side of the frame and isn’t possible.
We automatically deduct 3mm from your entered sizes, so you don't have to worry here. If you need more information, please contact our friendly customer service team!
The best frame to use, if you have a window sill, is to select an L frame as you can fit the frame further back in the recess. If your window sill has an overhang, and you still want a Z-frame, then we'd recommend that you also choose a full height shutter, with an all around frame and sill bar. This allows you to fit your Z-frame with a flat bar on the bottom of the frame, ensuring the sill and frame won’t collide.
A shutter mid-rail separates the panels on the top and bottom for longer doors and windows, allowing you to open the top and bottom group of louvres independently. The size of the mid-rail can vary from 75mm to 110mm, depending on the overall size of your shutter. Please note that You are required to have a mid-rail on heights over 160cm and can enter where you would like the break to be.
Yes, any square or rectangle opening would be suitable for shutters.
